Bebo is making a return from the dead, six years after it was bought for $850 million by AOL.
Once one of the internet’s most successful social networking sites, Bebo lost out big time to Facebook and was eventually bought back from AOL by its founder for just $1million.
It is now making its return as a hyperactive social messaging app and they have announced all user photos uploaded over the years will make a return to the web on January 31st.
Where can I see all my old Bebo pictures?
A statement on the company website, says: “Old Bebo was great fun, but ultimately time passed it by and people moved onto other (blue-er) social networks.
“Last year, we (the original founders) bought Bebo back for $1M to re-invent it as something new.
“We loved the old skins, customisation, creativity, and fun of the old Bebo, but wanted to bring that back in a new way. Everybody else is trying to be very “serious” about social networking, which feels a bit strange to us. The new Bebo is for people who don’t take life too seriously.
“As for your old photos, we know how important they are to you. We have good (and not so good) photo memories on the old Bebo, and they will be available starting January 31st 2015.”
