Picture by Karen Burgoyne The Broadford Works in Aberdeen are “well alight” after a blaze broke out this evening. Over 40 firefighters are currently at the scene trying to tackle the blaze but onlookers have described as “well developed smoke covering the area”. A spokesman for the fire service said: “We have six appliances at the scene, where the building is well alight.” Over 40 firefighters are currently tackling the blaze Police Scotland are asking local residents to stay in doors and close all windows. Watch video from the scene here. In recent years there have been numerous fires at the premises, which is the largest collection of at-risk A-listed buildings in Scotland. In November, four teenagers were charged after video footage emerged online of them appearing to enter the site to start a fire inside.
