The Met Office have issues a ‘yellow warning’ for snow and ice across the north of Scotland today.
Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire, Moray, the Highlands and Islands are all expected to be hit and have all been given the yellow ‘be aware’ warnings for both snow and ice.
The experts say that ‘5-10 cm of snow is possible in places above 200-300m, while 2cm is possible in lower levels inland.’
Forecasters are also warning of the ice they believe will cover roads and other surfaces across the north and north east as temperatures struggle to break above zero.
With a full card of football matches across the country and shoppers expected to be out in force for the sales, the ice could prove very dangerous and authorities have been warning drivers to take great care.
Make sure you set out with a bit of extra time today. With a full Football card and the sales on…roads might be busier than normal 🙂
