Fire crews were called to the lorry blaze which blocked the A90 northbound
A major north-east road is now clear after an earlier lorry fire.
The incident happened northbound on the A90 Perth – Aberdeen road at Portlethen shortly after 11.45am, when a lorry burst its tyre and its trailer burst into flames.
Police and fire and rescue services were called to the scene but have now been stood down.
The northbound carriageway had been blocked but is now clear.
However, the slip-road from Portlethen onto the A90 has been closed.
BEAR Scotland has now taken over and will ensure the lorry is removed from the road.
There were no injuries as a result of the accident.
