Highland woman rescued whilst saving sheep from floods

A Highland woman had to be saved by rescuers as she tried to herd her sheep from a flooding barn this morning.
The incident happened at a property off the A835, near Drumrunie, just north of Ullapool, said to be close to a overflowing river.
Coastguard teams from Ullapool and Achiltibuie, along with Highland firefighters, are said to have rescued her from a barn where she housed her sheep.
A coastguard spokesman said: “A woman was stuck in her shed with her sheep. I think she lives down by a river.
“The fire and rescue service and coastguard teams performed a water rescue and took her back to her house. Her sheep are still stuck inside the barn, but the water looked like it was receding.”
