One person has died and seven others have been injured in a spate of road accidents in the north.
A woman cyclist was killed when her bike collided with an articulated lorry at Bettyhill in the far north.
The accident happened at 3.15pm on Saturday on the A836, between Thurso and Bettyhill.
And just after 9pm yesterday, five people were injured in a one-car crash near Dalburgh, on South Uist.
It happened on the island’s main road, the A865, at its junction with the B888.
One person was taken to Uist and Barra Hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries, while another four casualties, described as walking wounded, were also taken to hospital.
Meanwhile, a man in his early 20s was taken to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness after another one-vehicle smash.
He had to be cut free from a black Ford Fiesta which left the A95, between Dulnain Bridge and Grantown, at 10pm yesterday.
