The north’s roads are being affected by the first significant snowfall of winter.
Motorists are being urged to avoid the highest points of the A9 by police – who said they have been dealing with “several road traffic incidents” on the Inverness to Perth road.
The worst conditions are to be found at Drumochter south of Dalwhinnie.
A police spokesman said that drivers were facing “whiteout conditions” in the area and urged drivers to avoid using the road if possible.
High wind warnings are also in place on the Kessock and Dornoch Bridges.
A Met Office yellow weather warning is in place across the Highlands until Monday afternoon, with forecasters expecting further snowfall overnight into Monday.
