Firefighters were called to the burning vehicle Lilac Grove in the Dalenigh area of the city at 2.44am this morning. A crew from Inverness used a hosereel jet and breathing apparatus to extinguish the blaze but the vehicle was totally destroyed by the fire. The fire was brought under control by 3.12am and the firefighters left the scene after 3.30am. A police spokesman said that the cause of the fire was “unexplained”, adding that “inquiries are ongoing”.
