A man has been killed after a crash involving a Press and Journal delivery van on the A90 this morning.
The fatal smash happened on the Aberdeen-Dundee road at Stracathro around 2.30am.
A stretch of the dual carriageway was shut between the B966 turn-off for Edzell at Keithock and the B974 Luthermuir road following the accident.
A Police Scotland spokesman said: “Police can confirm that sadly a man has died following a road traffic collision at Stracathro on the A90.
“No further details are available until next of kin have been informed.”
Rush-hour commuters and those travelling between Aberdeen and Dundee were diverted via Brechin and Edzell, as well as the A92 Stonehaven coast road.
The diversion is 51 miles long so Traffic Scotland are advising motorists allow extra time for their journeys.
