The driver of a gritter that overturned in treacherous conditions on the A90 in Angus died this morning, police have confirmed.
The man, aged 29, crashed the vehicle at the Bogindollo junction between Forfar and Brechin at 6.25am today, causing heavy disruption to traffic on the road.
A police spokeswoman said: “We can confirm that a man has died during the incident.”
Heavy snow and icy conditions have disrupted travel across Scotland and the Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for north and north-eastern areas of the country.
Police Scotland has warned motorists to “travel with caution” and Traffic Scotland has raised concerns over freezing conditions.
