Peter Pawlett’s 12th minute strike secured all three points for Aberdeen yesterday to move the Dons to within two points of league leaders Celtic.
Caley Jags started the game strongly, putting the Dons under pressure but it was the visitors who made the breakthrough when Inverness central defender Josh Meekings and left back Carl Tremarco collided when trying to clear a high ball, allowing Niall McGinn to set-up Peter Pawlett who sidefooted the ball high past Dean Brill from 14 yards.
Caley Thistle tried to find a way back into the game and went close through Billy McKay in the second half but he saw his effort rebound off the bar as the Dons held on for all three points.
