Starting out at Ross County, Mackay-Steven represented Scotland at youth level and at just 16-years-old he secured a move to one of the biggest clubs in world football, Liverpool.
The youngster agreed to join the Merseyside giants on a three-year deal but was unable to make the breakthrough and moved on to Fulham before returning north, signing for Airdrie in 2011 before moving on to Dundee United later that year.
Mackay Steven made his debut for the Scottish under-17s in a 0-0 draw against Northern Ireland in a friendly in Belfast and luckily our photographer caught plenty of pictures of the proud young Scotsman.
