Police were called to the Fraserburgh to Aberdeen road just south of its junction with the A952 at Cortes at around 6.30am. The incident involved a Citroen van, which is now being recovered. A police spokesman confirmed that traffic is now being diverted onto the A952 route through Mintlaw. She added: “The incident was caused by an electrical fire. The vehicle is being moved now.”
