Ryan Cleary has become the first male contestant to leave ITV2 reality show Survival Of The Fittest.
He was given the chop by the girls’ team after being placed in the bottom three alongside David Lundy and James Middleton following the public vote.
Cleary called it “one of the best experiences” of his life and said he had made “amazing friends for life”.
The boys faced being replaced after losing the challenge in Friday night’s episode when new contestant Sam joined the competition.
In his exit interview, Cleary said: “I think that it was an experience you can’t really plan for so when you go in there, you just have to take each day as it comes.”
Asked about a love triangle between himself, Middleton and replaced contestant Georgie Clarke, he said: “From the start, I definitely thought Georgie was the girl that I’d like to get to know a bit better.
“James obviously had the same interest but he was more discrete about that interest. But we spoke about it, we aired it out and we’re good now.
“We’re like brothers. At the time we were both into Georgie and when she went it was rubbish. I did take a liking to her.
“I’m up for meeting Georgie, I think she is a beautiful girl. We had a lot in common and I’d love to see her outside of the lodge.”
He backed the boys to win the competition, adding: “They’re going to spin it on its head and they’re going to win now, all the way to the end.”
