Justin Bieber has called for a Fox News host to be sacked after accusing her of “disrespecting” the late rapper Nipsey Hussle.
Laura Ingraham sparked controversy when she appeared to laugh while introducing a segment about Hussle, who was shot dead in March at the age of 33.
Ingraham, one of Fox News’ highest-profile anchors and who has her own conservative talk show, The Ingraham Angle, sarcastically described the musician as “this dear artist”.
She was discussing Hussle’s 2016 hit with fellow rapper YG, FDT, which includes the chorus “f*** Donald Trump”.
Bieber took to Instagram on Thursday to demand her sacking, describing her behaviour as “absolutely disgusting”.
He said: “Laura Ingraham absolutely disgusting what you did on national television. How dare you laugh in the face of a person who has passed on.
“Doesn’t matter who it is. But disrespecting someone’s who was a pillar in the community and did right by people?
“Did you not think about the family who just lost a love one and now have to see you mock him on national television It’s absurd and you should be fired period. #repost#spreadawareness.”
Bieber was not the only celebrity to criticise Ingraham for the Hussle segment. Rappers The Game and Snoop Dogg were among those calling for a boycott.
A memorial service for Hussle was held earlier this month and he was buried at Forest Lawn-Hollywood Hills.
Eric R Holder Jr has been charged with killing Hussle outside a Los Angeles clothes shop on March 31 and has pleaded not guilty.
