Ten Aberdeen firefighters battled a blaze at an Aberdeen University building tonight.
The fire broke out in the basement of the Zoology Building, on Tillydrone Avenue, at around 8.40pm.
Two fire appliances from North Anderson Drive were called to the fire, described as having an “accidental cause”.
A fire and rescue spokesman said: “There was a fire within a basement of one of the building’s, it was extinguished using hose reel jets and breathing apparatus. We were there until 10.15pm.”
Staff members and security guards were said to have been evacuated from the building.
The spokesman added that the fire was “nothing suspicious”.
