Sheree Trueman’s secret has come out in EastEnders, as her mysterious other man turns out to be her son.
Viewers of the BBC soap have seen Sheree secretly taking calls from someone, but so far her secret has been under wraps.
Denise (Diane Parish) assumed the worst and, desperate to protect Sheree’s husband Patrick, took it upon herself to find out just who Sheree (Suzette Llewellyn) has been talking to.
Convinced she was having an affair, Denise demanded Sheree leave before breaking the news to a heartbroken Patrick.
Sheree obliged, but in Wednesday night’s flashback episode, viewers learnt that Sheree was actually talking to her son Isaac Baptiste, who has arrived in Albert Square.
The newcomer is played by actor Stevie Basaula, who has previously starred in theatre productions as well as the upcoming second season of Bulletproof.
He said of joining EastEnders: “I feel very blessed to be a part of such an iconic show.
“Like many of us around the country, EastEnders is something I’ve grown up with so it excites me to be bringing to life the part of Isaac.”
Jon Sen, the soap’s executive producer, added: “We’re thrilled to welcome Stevie to EastEnders.
“We’ve teased the character of Isaac – the ‘other man’ in Sheree’s life – ever since her arrival six months ago.
“Today Isaac has arrived on the Square with bravado, charisma and his fair share of charm.
“A teacher with a troubled past, his story will unfold over the coming weeks as we discover just why Sheree has kept him away from Patrick these last few months.”
