Summer appeared to be the main inspiration for stars on the red carpet at the Brit Awards, with plenty of pastel colours and ruffled gowns in play.
In addition to the apparent fashion theme, each star was seen carrying a white rose as they arrived at London’s O2 Arena in support of victims of sexual harassment and assault.
Nominees and guests at the ceremony followed the lead set at the Grammys by wearing white rose pins and holding up the flowers to show support for Time’s Up, the movement launched in the wake of the entertainment industry’s sexual assault scandal.
The move comes days after attendees at the Baftas swapped their usual colourful gowns for black dresses to acknowledge the initiative.
But at the Brits, there was plenty of colour on the red carpet.
Rita Ora dazzled in an ostentatious feathered gown with a layered skirt in a pale blue hue that darkened at the bottom of the skirt, while TV presenter Holly Willoughby nodded at the trend with a short white tuxedo-style dress with a feathered hemline.
American singer Camila Cabello went for a pale blue sheer gown with a ruffled detail over her chest and down the sides of the garment.
In a similar style to Ora was five-time nominee Dua Lipa, who rocked a candy floss-inspired full pink dress with an asymmetric hemline.
Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown kept to the summery theme with a ruffled white dress with black polka dots.
Singer Pixie Lott chose a more streamlined look with a slinky lilac gown with spaghetti straps complete with a thigh-high split up the skirt, a style mimicked by model Abbey Clancy, whose nightgown-inspired cream dress no doubt turned heads.
At the other end of the style spectrum, Cheryl made an appearance with her boyfriend Liam Payne in a one-sleeved black mini dress.
American model Hailey Baldwin stepped out with a figure-hugging black and blue dress, adding to the dark aesthetic with a slick of black lipstick on her lips.
Also in black was Spice Girl Emma Bunton, who styled a shiny trench coat into a dress.
Australian pop star Kylie Minogue donned an outfit like Bunton’s – a bright red mac worn over a silk midi-dress, the belt tied up at the waist.
Ellie Goulding went for a 1980s look in a red dress with a rara skirt and oversized shoulders.
Little Mix, who were among the last stars to arrive on the red carpet, clashed their outfits – Perrie Edwards and Leigh-Anne Pinnock went for white gowns, while Jesy Nelson wore a green leather jumpsuit and Jade Thirlwall went for a classic little black dress.
American actress Courteney Cox eschewed a fancy outfit for a casual pair of jeans and a jacket as she joined her partner, Snow Patrol’s Johnny McDaid at the British music event.
