Liam Gallagher and Stereophonics to headline V Festival replacement

Liam Gallagher and Stereophonics will headline a brand new music festival that is taking the place of V Festival.

RiZE Festival will take place at Hylands Park in Chelmsford from August 17 – 18, and will also see the likes of James Bay, Manic Street Preachers, Craig David Presents TS5, Bastille, Rag’N’Bone Man and Rita Ora perform.

V Festival was held annually at Hylands Park and Weston Park in south Staffordshire on the third weekend of August.

RiZE Festival line-up (RiZE Festival)

Sir Richard Branson announced in October that, after 22 years, Virgin will no longer be sponsoring V Festival.

Following his announcement, the official V Festival Twitter account wrote: “Thanks for being a great sponsor @Virgin.

“The name of the new festival that continues on the same weekend in 2018 will be announced soon.”

V Festival, named after Virgin Group, launched in 1996 and featured some of the world’s biggest stars, including Justin Bieber, Rihanna and Jay Z.

The rebranded RiZE Festival will bring together a mix of indie music, pop, urban and dance across four stages over two days.

Other acts confirmed for the line-up include Years & Years, Plan B, Raye, MNEK, Disciples, Lewis Capaldi, Nina Nesbitt, Tom Grennan, Example & DJ Wire, Tokio Myers, Sinead Harnett, Jacob Banks and The Manor.

Tickets go on sale at rizefestival.co.uk and other outlets from March 2.
