Gigi Hadid said she and boyfriend Zayn Malik are “very excited” as she confirmed they are expecting their first child together.
Reports surfaced in the US earlier this week saying model Hadid, 25, and former One Direction star Malik, 27, were expecting – and she has now confirmed the news.
Speaking to Jimmy Fallon for his The Tonight Show, Hadid said: “Obviously, we wished we could have announced it on our own terms, but we’re very excited and happy and grateful for everyone’s well wishes and support.”
Hadid added: “Especially during this time, it’s a nice silver lining to be able to be home and be together and really experience it day by day.”
Hadid also revealed she has been craving bagels while pregnant.
Earlier, her mother Yolanda Hadid told Dutch outlet RTL Boulevard the baby is expected in September.
“Of course we are so excited,” the 56-year-old reportedly said. “I’m excited to become a Oma in September especially after I lost my mom so recently. But this is the beauty of life: one soul leaves us and a new one comes in. We feel very blessed.”
Los Angeles-born Hadid and Bradford-born Malik have been dating on and off since late 2015.
