New mother Ferne McCann has said she is in “the early stages” of a new relationship, as she moves on from her rocky romance with her ex, Arthur Collins.
The former The Only Way Is Essex star welcomed daughter Sunday in November but her pregnancy was overshadowed by the attention around her former boyfriend – the baby’s father, Collins – and his involvement in a nightclub acid attack.
McCann, 27, told The Sun she is feeling happier after a “traumatic” year and that she has been seeing an older man.
She said: “There is someone older who has been a confidant, who’s been there for me emotionally.
“I’d hardly call it a relationship. It’s in the early stages.
“I’ve only just had a baby after all and Sunday still sleeps in the same bed as me.
“I have no idea whether it will develop but he knows that I can’t rush things.”
Whatever happens, McCann said she is “definitely open to finding love again because I’m a romantic at heart”.
“But it has to be when the time is right.
“Right now it’s just me and Sunday, and I feel very lucky,” she said.
McCann also suggested she would let her daughter see Collins, who was jailed after hurling acid over a crowd at the Mangle E8 in Dalston, east London, last year.
He was sentenced to 20 years in prison after a jury at London’s Wood Green Crown Court had convicted him of five counts of grievous bodily harm with intent and nine counts of actual bodily harm.
