A self-deprecating makeover subject from the Netflix series Queer Eye has announced he has become engaged following his appearance on the show.
Tom Jackson captured viewers’ hearts with his attempts to win back ex-wife Abby, who he called the “love of my life” during the first episode of the revamped lifestyle show, which sees five gay men helping straight men to improve their lives.
The couple’s romance seemed to have been rekindled by the end of the first episode, thanks to the help of makeover experts Antoni Porowski, Jonathan Van Ness, Bobby Berk, Tan France and Karamo Brown, known as the Fab Five.
Jackson recently revealed that he and Abby had split up again since the episode was filmed last year, but last week told fans they had reunited and, days later in a dramatic turnaround, the pair are now set to wed again.
He tweeted: “It’s official, Abby and I are engaged. What a Netflix special the would be. If the Fab 5 planned and attended our wedding!!!!!!!!!”
In a picture shared alongside his post, he and Abby beamed for the camera.
The announcement was met with jubilation from fans of the show, with one replying: “I cried (tears of joy) during your episode watching you blossom. And here you and Abby are blossoming together.”
Queer Eye premiered on Netflix at the start of February and is a re-boot of the original Bravo series Queer Eye For The Straight Guy.
The new-look series has been well-received by fans and critics alike and boasts a 100% approval rating on review aggregation site Rotten Tomatoes.
Jackson was seen being given a complete lifestyle overhaul in the first episode, with his wardrobe and unruly beard being taken to task, as well as his interior decor, his eating habits and his confidence.
