Love Island viewers felt for Jack Fincham after his love interest Dani Dyer relegated him to the friend zone.

The pair had an awkward chat in Wednesday night’s episode of the ITV2 show in which both claimed they would be better off as just friends.

Fincham later admitted it was not exactly what he wanted, saying he was “gutted” and that he had to “lick his wounds”.

But Dyer did not appear to have any regrets, saying that other girls “would be lucky to have that. But not me. Because I’ve had that.”

Viewers posted messages on Twitter saying Fincham was “a sweetie” and “a real gent” for the way he handled the conversation. Many joked that they would love to be the one to console him.

One person said on Twitter: “Naw my heart is melting for Jack, someone get me to him so i can give him a big cuddle.”

“Jack brushing it off in front of dani saying he feels the same way when really he was gutted breaks my heart,” said another.

Another person said: “What Jack has just done for Dani is actually proper sweet… Telling her he feels the same so she doesnt feel bad…”

Love Island continues on ITV2.
