Former Love Island contestant Charlie Frederick has expressed regret that he was partnered with Hayley Hughes after the couple were dumped off the ITV2 series on Friday.
The models left the villa after the public voted to save A&E Dcotor Alex George and his partner West End Performer Samira Mighty.
The two couples were up for elimination after their fellow contestants nominated them as the least compatible couples on the show.
When asked what he would do differently if he was given the chance to rejoin the show, Frederick said: “110 per cent I would go back in there.
“I wouldn’t have gone for Hayley if I would have known she was playing a game. I still fancied her, she is an attractive girl.
“If we were doing the recoupling again, I would have liked Megan (Barton Hanson) or Georgia (Steel) to pick me or Rosie (Williams). We all fancied each other.”
Frederick said he regretted “investing all my time in Hayley” and that he felt hard done by at leaving the show after only joining on the eighth day of the programme’s fourth series.
He admitted that he and Hughes were not a good match and he understood his fellow contestants’ decision to nominate them.
Following her and Frederick’s departure from the show, Hughes was asked if she would see him outside the villa.
She replied: “I’ll see him at the wrap party. But this is the end of us as a couple but I won’t be bitter. It just is what it is.”
Frederick and Hughes both said they thought Dani Dyer and her partner Jack Fincham would make the final of the reality TV show.
