Stephanie Davis has opened up on being a single mother to her 18-month-old son Caben.
The actress welcomed Caben in January 2017 with her now ex-partner Jeremy McConnell, who she met in the Celebrity Big Brother house the previous year.
He was later handed a suspended sentence for assaulting her.
Writing on Instagram to her 854,000 followers, Davis posted two pictures, one of her carrying her son home from the hospital after he was born and another of the mother and son at the park.
Along with the snaps, she wrote: “This photo means a lot to me. Caben you are the light of my life!
“It’s not been easy, from the start even our pregnancy was really tough when it’s suppose to be one of the happiest times of someone’s life, and then giving birth in them circumstances, but you kept me going, you got me back up again whenever i fell down and I carried on fighting…for you, we walked out of that hospital and started our life together just me and you.
“I’ll always remember being emotional thinking, we did it little one we did it.”
Earlier this week, Davis, 25, was pictured on the Hollyoaks set where she is reprising her role as Sinead O’Connor following a three-year absence.
She has been open about her battle with alcoholism and in February told ITV’s Lorraine that going to rehab for treatment was “the best decision of my life”.
Davis said Caben had taught her “how to carry on, how to be selfless, how to love unconditionally and how every morning I am blessed waking up to your beautiful face”.
She added: “I may not always get it right, but I’m doing my best. I never knew how hard it was, but I’m giving it my all and hope one day you will be proud. There’s one thing I can say about my self, and that is, I am strong, I have an unbelievable amount of strength even when I thought I had no fight left, and that is because of YOU, you gave me that.
“I love you SO much. We started this journey together and we have grown and grown… together. Thank you for being my best friend, for Keeping me going every day and making me smile and laugh, For always loving me, for being the beautiful AMAZING kind caring and loving young boy you are.”
The post ended with: “I love you son! Love always and forever, Mummy.”
