Anna Chancellor is joining the cast of Bafta-nominated sitcom Timewasters for its second series.
The ITV2 comedy programme about a south London jazz band who are transported back in time will begin filming the new run next week.
Four Weddings And A Funeral star Chancellor, who was nominated for a TV Bafta for BBC drama The Hour, is one of several new additions to the cast.
She will appear alongside fellow newcomers Javone Prince (PhoneShop), TV Bafta winner Daniel Rigby (Eric And Ernie) and Ellie White (The Windsors).
The main cast – Daniel Lawrence Taylor, Kadiff Kirwan, Adelayo Adedayo and Samson Kayo – are all set to return.
The first series of Timewasters saw the jazz band sent back to the 1920s after stepping into a lift that turned out to be a time machine.
The second series, set to air in 2019, will see the musicians travel to the 1950s, where they start a jazz club amid the backdrop of post-war Cold War paranoia and the Teddy Boys.
The gang will then accidentally start the Notting Hill Riots, prompting them to realise they should return home.
Taylor, who created and wrote the series, won the breakthrough talent prize at the RTS Programme Awards 2018, and he is nominated in the same category for this year’s Edinburgh TV Awards.
