TV personality Kim Woodburn has said she is “incredibly upset and disappointed” following an incident that saw her storm off the set of Loose Women.
The former How Clean Is Your House? star appeared on the ITV programme to face sparring partner Coleen Nolan, with whom she has had a public fall-out after they appeared in Celebrity Big Brother in January 2017.
Woodburn has accused Nolan, and some of the other housemates, of bullying her while in the house, while Nolan maintains that Woodburn was constantly argumentative.
During her appearance on Loose Women, Woodburn raised her voice and shouted at Nolan and the other panellists before storming off.
A spokeswoman for Woodburn told the Press Association in a statement: “Kim was invited onto Loose Women as she was told Coleen wanted to hold peace talks with her.
“When she arrived this morning, Kim was briefed and told Coleen would speak first and give her reasons for their row.
“She was told Coleen wanted to bury the hatchet.
“However when Kim walked on set, Coleen refused to speak first and made Kim do all the talking.
“This left Kim on the spot and out of her depth.
“This incident has left Kim incredibly upset and she feels disappointed with what happened.”
ITV said in a statement: “Kim agreed to come onto the panel today at the invitation of the producers on the understanding it was for a reconciliation with Coleen.
“Kim becoming upset was never the intention and the panel did endeavour to comfort her.
“She was offered counselling after the show, which she declined.”
Woodburn, 76, told the panel when she arrived that she did not want to appear on the show, but that she was paid “a good amount of money”.
Nolan, 53, asked if they could “draw a line under” their feud, adding: “Kim’s right, I was two-faced with Kim in the house.
“I tried to be the peacemaker because everyone was rowing.
“I think Kim, very cleverly, because she is a superfan of Big Brother, came in to play ‘oh look at me, I’m being bullied’, in the hope they weren’t showing that she went in like a demon from day one.
“I was trying to keep the peace and, near the end, I just couldn’t stand it anymore.
“So if that makes me two-faced, then I guess I was two-faced.”
Nolan added, as Woodburn became increasingly infuriated: “I didn’t tell you how vile you are from day one.
“That’s what I should have done.
“You’re a horrible, self-centred, publicity-seeking witch.”
Nolan’s sister and fellow panellist Linda Nolan said Woodburn only ever appears on TV because she is “controversial”, adding: “She’s got no talent.”
Woodburn said, of Nolan: “I’ll never forget what the likes of her and others put me through. Never. It was bloody cruel.
“Don’t go by people you see on television, a demure person.
“I lose my temper but I’ve got a good heart and soul. She’s hard as nails.
“You think what you like. She’s a horrible person. She’s trash.”
During the live interview, the audience was shocked when Woodburn also accused panellist Linda Robson of being “phoney” to her during a previous appearance on the show.
She also batted Robson’s arm away as she attempted to comfort her.
Following Woodburn’s sudden exit, Nolan told viewers: “We have got members of our team with Kim backstage.
“We didn’t intend for it to actually end like that, we were hoping, actually, genuinely hoping, for some kind of reconciliation, but that wasn’t going to happen.”
