Soap star Ryan Thomas has broken down in tears after being told in a letter from his brother not to worry about how he is coming across on Celebrity Big Brother.
The former Coronation Street actor was previously accused on the show by former Emmerdale star Roxanne Pallett of punching her.
Since leaving the house, Pallett has apologised for her actions, saying she had got it wrong.
Thomas teared up as TV psychic Sally Morgan read a message from home penned by his younger brother Scott which said he had nothing to worry about and that viewers had seen his true personality.
The letter said: “Honestly bro, I can’t tell you how proud we all are of you. You really have taken yourself out of your comfort zone and trust me, it’s been well worth it.
“You’ve shown the nation just how amazing you really are and carried yourself so well.
“I know you will be worried about how you are coming across but we want you to know you have absolutely nothing to worry about. Everyone has seen the real you.”
The message went on say that Thomas’ young daughter Scarlett was missing him and had been enjoying watching clips of him taking part in challenges on the show.
The letter also referenced Thomas’ partner, former The Only Way Is Essex star Lucy Mecklenburgh.
It said: “Lucy is more than proud of you and she is so happy everyone gets to see the Ryan she knows and loves. Honestly bro, just keep being you and keep shining.”
Following Pallett’s exit Mecklenburgh called for the Channel 5 programme to revoke the formal warning Thomas received after he was accused by Pallett of punching her.
Mecklenburgh told the BBC’s Victoria Derbyshire the show had let both Thomas and Pallett down by handing Thomas the warning and not showing the pair footage of the incident.
