Oti Mabuse has said she would rather dance than take the place of Dame Darcey Bussell on the Strictly Come Dancing panel.
The dancer has said she would prefer to continue her choreography and performance work, and not become a judge.
Dame Darcey has announced that she will not return to Strictly, sparking speculation as to who will replace her.
Ballroom star Mabuse has ruled herself out of the running to join Craig Revel Horwood, Bruno Tonioli and Shirley Ballas.
Speaking to Hello magazine, she said: “I love being a dancer and I enjoy creating and choreographing and I think I love that part more.
“Strictly is the biggest show on television so it’s a big deal for anyone who gets it. They need to know what they are doing.”
Mabuse described Dame Darcey as “an incredible dancer” and a special influence on the show.
She has said that her replacement will need to fill the same supportive role as the departing judge.
Mabuse said: “What she brought to Strictly was so special.
“Her replacement has to be completely different from what we have had, but someone who has the nurturing nature of Darcey.”
