Dumped Love Island star Connor Durman has said he will wait for Sophie Piper now he has left the villa.
The couple were revealed to be the least popular pair after a public vote and their fellow contestants had to choose which of the two of them would be axed from the show.
In Monday’s episode it was revealed that they chose to save Sophie, giving coffee bean salesman Connor the boot.
Afterwards he said: “I had a feeling that it could be us in the bottom two. It was a shame but we had had the most amazing day the day I left. We were just starting to get really close.”
The couple had only recently reunited after Sophie coupled up with Welsh model Connagh Howard.
Asked if he thought if Sophie might now be tempted by other boys on the show, he said: “It’s still early on in the villa. Her head could be turned. I want her to enjoy the experience.
“It’s a once-in-a-lifetime thing. I wouldn’t have any grudges against her. I do just want her to be happy.”
He added: “I will wait for her. I’m in no rush to meet someone else.
“I’d say (to her), ‘Follow your heart and I want you to be happy, and just enjoy the ride’.
“Whatever happens, happens. And if we end up meeting up, let’s just see what happens. I just want her to be happy, really.”
He has now backed Callum Jones and Shaughna Phillips to win, saying: “I think they’re all genuine.
“I honestly don’t think anyone’s playing a game.”
Love Island continues on ITV2.
