This Morning presenters Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield have been back on air after a night of toasting their National Television Awards success.
The programme won Best Magazine Show at the ceremony on Tuesday night.
At the beginning of Wednesday morning’s edition, Willoughby asked her co-host if he wanted her to be a bit quieter.
Schofield replied: “Do you know what? The problem is mixing.
“Gin and tonic, then Alice Beer’s tequila, which she had in her bag.”
Willoughby added that Beer, who also presents on the programme, is her “hero” after she took a “bag with pre-salted shot glasses for the tequila that she had made”.
She added: “I don’t know why we did it.”
Schofield thanked This Morning’s viewers for helping them secure their landmark victory at the awards ceremony, adding: “Always you never know whether anything nice is going to happen but it was an important one because that’s 10 in a row.”
Willoughby added: “We appreciate it so much, we can’t tell you.”
The This Morning team were presented their award at London’s O2 by Judy Finnigan and Richard Madeley.
At the ceremony, Schofield revealed that staff who went to the ceremony had “started quite early” with their drinking.
Willoughby blamed Beer for the group’s drinking and joked that she ought to change her surname to Tequila.
“Beer is not strong enough,” she said.
It is not the first time that Willoughby and Schofield have presented This Morning while suffering from a hangover following success at the National Television Awards.
In 2016, they appeared on screen still wearing their outfits from the previous night’s ceremony.
Willoughby told viewers that she had not gone home since attending a post-show party at Ant McPartlin’s house, with Schofield adding: “We’re in a proper mess.”
