Kate Garraway has said her husband is “still with us, but what a battle it is” after he was admitted to hospital with coronavirus.
The TV presenter shared the message alongside a video clip of her taking part in the Clap for Carers.
Derek Draper, 52, a former lobbyist and political adviser, was taken to hospital at the end of March.
Garraway said that she has “so much to be grateful for tonight”.
The Good Morning Britain host, also 52, added: “Derek is still with us but what a battle it is.
“So grateful too for our amazing NHS doing so much for Derek every day – wonderful to see all the support for them and our key workers every Thursday.”
Garraway has shared regular updates on her husband’s condition to coincide with the Clap for Carers on Thursday evenings.
On Saturday, she said on her blog that her husband remained in a “critical condition” and “is very ill”.
In her social media post on Thursday, she said that she is “sending love to everyone during this ghastly time, particularly all those struggling for whatever reason – none of this is easy”.
“Thank you so much for your messages – they mean so much to me,” she added.
Garraway and Draper married in 2005 and have a daughter and a son.
