Audit, tax and consulting firm RSM UK has signed up Aberdonian golfing star Paul Lawrie as a brand ambassador.
RSM, which has Scottish offices in Aberdeen, Lerwick, Edinburgh and Glasgow, said yesterday the three-year deal was a further expansion of its golf sponsorship programme.
Lawrie will display the RSM logo on his shirt during tournaments and take part in client and employee events.
RSM UK chief operating officer David Gwilliam said: ‘Paul’s success over many years speaks volumes about his professionalism and commitment.
“I am sure he will be a fantastic ambassador for the RSM brand.”
Lawrie, whose professional record spans 25 years on the European Tour, said: “I have had a long personal association with RSM, due to their longstanding support of the Paul Lawrie Golf Centre (in South Deeside Road, Aberdeen), and I am delighted to be taking that to a new level.
“This year, I am looking forward to playing a key role as part of the Europe Ryder Cup team and I will be proud to have RSM UK backing me all the way.”
In addition to winning the Open Championship in 1999, Lawrie has notched up eight European Tour wins and represented Europe twice at the Ryder Cup.
This year, he takes on the role as vice-captain of the European Ryder Cup team for the first time.
In addition to its support for Lawrie, RSM UK also backs European Tour player Andy Sullivan.
