A travel operator with scores of customers in the north and north-east has gone into administration.
Diamond Holidays, which was featured in the reader travel section of the Press and Journal and Evening Express, has ceased trading.
The firm encompasses Diamond Holidays, Diamond Rail Holidays and The River Cruise Line.
There are currently 113 holiday-makers booked with the operator through adverts in the P&J and EE.
They include a selection of UK breaks, European rail breaks and river cruises – with 95 P&J readers and 18 Evening Express readers booked for a trip this year.
Susan McKay, Reader Travel manager, said: “Any of our readers who have been affected will be able to get a refund through Abta or by contacting their credit card companies.”
A spokesman for Diamond Holidays told readers: “It is with deep regret that Diamond Shortbreak Holidays Ltd, trading as Diamond Holidays, Diamond Rail Holidays and The River Cruise Line is in the process of going into administration.
“We are sorry that we have had no choice but to take this course of action.”
A statement on the firm’s website added: “Anyone that has booked a holiday with us will be contacted in due course as sadly your holiday booking will not go ahead.”
Customers who want advice on how to claim their money back can do so through travel association, Abta.
