Airline Tui has announced it is scrapping summer flights to both Tenerife and Rhodes from Aberdeen Airport.
As of next year holidaymakers will no longer be able to fly to the popular Canary Islands destination between May and September.
While flights to Rhodes are being scrapped completely with the Greek island no longer an option from Aberdeen.
It comes just a month after data from Tui claimed holidaymakers in Aberdeen are most likely to book a summer holiday to Tenerife and they launched a recruitment drive for more cabin crew in the city.
Currently the UK’s largest airline operator Summer schedule sees flights run to Tenerife South airport every Sunday from June through to September.
But as of next year this will be axed with only Winter flights available twice a week from October.
Meanwhile, flights to Rhodes will stop from Aberdeen at the end of September this year.
Aberdeen flying programme constantly under review, says Tui spokeswoman
A Tui spokeswoman said: “Whilst we will no longer be flying to Rhodes, or to Tenerife during May – September, we will continue to fly to Tenerife twice a week in October and throughout the winter.
“We are proud to have a range of destinations on offer departing from Aberdeen Airport including Costa Dorada, Tenerife, Greece and Turkey.
“In Summer 2024 we are set to have twice weekly flights to Mallorca and Dalaman, as well as flights to service Marella Cruises departing from Mallorca and Corfu.
“We are constantly reviewing our flying programme and regularly make changes to reflect our customers’ requirements.
“Regional flying is very important to us, and we look forward to continuously taking the people of Aberdeen on holidays across the world.”
Tui has also announced the Aberdeen flight to Reus will depart on a Wednesday, instead of Sunday.
The airline currently operates to 79 destinations in 33 countries with more than 68 aircraft.
An Aberdeen International Airport spokesman said: “We are in constant dialogue with our airline partners regarding their schedules.
“Tui and Aberdeen International Airport have a long-standing relationship and this will continue with a number of popular destinations including Palma, Dalaman and Corfu.”
