Aberdeen office furniture firm Langstane said yesterday it had completed work on the biggest contract in its 69-year history.
The £1.6million deal saw the company supply staff and patient furniture to the new Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow.
It provided and installed a total of 20,000 pieces in three buildings within the hospital complex.
Established in 1947, Langstane remains a family business operating from Aberdeen and branches in Dundee, Livingston and Inverurie.
The firm employs more than 130 people and has turns over £17.5million a year.
It has supplied office furniture to the NHS in Scotland for nine years but the Queen Elizabeth contract is the largest to date under the framework agreement.
Managing director Colin Campbell said: “We have worked on many major office furniture contracts, such as the provision of all furniture for the Prime Four business park offices at Kingswells on the outskirts of Aberdeen.
“But this Glasgow-based contract is the largest one which we have ever undertaken.”
