A young farmer from the north-east took home the top price at the Scottish regional Jacob Society show and sale at St Boswells.
Adam Christie, of Birchfield, Glass, Huntly, achieved the sale-topping price of £1,950 when his home-bred four-horn ram lamb Adamski Drifter went through the ring.
Drifter, which is by Blackbrook Dragon and out of an Edingale ewe, stood second in the ram lamb class at the pre-sale show.
Prior to attending the fixture he was champion at Keith, reserve at Fettercairn and the Black Isle, and first at the Angus Show.
He sold to David Sizer, of Dun House Farm, Cleatham, Darlington.
The next best price at the sale of £1,500 was achieved by a ewe lamb which stood supreme champion.
The January-born four-horn twin from Mr and Mrs D.W. Harries’ Hope flock at Wenant in Carmarthenshire, is by Hope Rocky Boy and out of a Hope Ewe. She sold to Lesley Partridge, Holborne Farm, Pumphouse Lane, Webheath, Redditch.
Thereafter, Mr Christie paid £1,000 when auctioneers Harrison and Hetherington sold a ram lamb from the Harrie family’s Hope flock. The Huntly farmer bought January-born four-horn twin Hope Knock Out, which is by Hyndshaw Highland Laddie and out of a home-bred ewe.
Other leading prices included a £520 bid from the Miltons at Newton, Auchindachy, Keith, for a second-prize shearling ram.
The April-2015 born four-horn from Messrs Connor and Dalrymple at Dun-Mor, Linlithgow, is called Deerpark Jack II.
He was bred by Mr A Reilly and is by Gowanbank Max and out of a Deerpark ewe.
