A new competition to find the best arable farm in Scotland will be launched next month.
The new Scottish Arable Farm of the Year Award, which will be open for entries in 2017, will launch at the AgriScot event in Ingliston, Edinburgh, on Wednesday, November 16.
The award will be run by AgriScot in conjunction with Brechin-based precision farming company SoilEssentials and levy body AHDB Cereals and Oilseeds.
AgriScot chairman Andrew Moir said the award was being launched to complement the existing dairy, beef and sheep awards run by the event.
He also confirmed the theme for the beef demo area at next month’s event.
This year’s demonstration, which is sponsored by Quality Meat Scotland, will focus on showing how store cattle producers and their beef finisher buyers can make better use of readily available information to help boost profits.
