Huntly breeder Michael Leggat was left celebrating when he lifted the champion rosettes and took home the top price of 4,200gn at United Auctions’ show and sale of Texels at Stirling.
Mr Leggat, who runs the Foremanhill flock at Cairnton, Forgue, Huntly, was crowned champion in the pre-sale show.
His prize-winning entry, pictured right, was a February-2015 born daughter of the 6,800gn Aman Vyrnwy, out of a female by Strathbogie Terminator.
In-lamb to Glenside Wild Boy, which has bred lambs to 42,000gn, she sold to John Williams of Tynllyn, Llanwnnen, Lampeter, Wales.
The second best price at the sale of 4,000gn was achieved by a gimmer from Robbie Wilson’s Milnbank flock at North Dorlaithers, Turriff.
The April-2015 born daughter of the 42,000gn Glenside Valhalla is out of a ewe by the 40,000gn Glenside Razzle Dazzle.
Also in-lamb to Glenside Wild Boy, she sold to W. Watson, 14 Findrum Road, Ballygowley, Co. Tyrone, Northern Ireland.
Next best at 2,000gn was a February-2015 born gimmer from Jim Innes’ Strathbogie flock at Dunscroft, Huntly.
This Aman Vyrnwy daughter, out of a dam by Glenside Razzle Dazzle, sold in-lamb to Glenside Wild Boy to A. Jack, 3 Kilcroy, Muir of Ord.
