More than £4,000 was raised at a special dinner in aid of rural charity RSABI.
The event, which was organised by the charity’s Angus voluntary committee, took place at The Mechanics’ Institute in Brechin.
The inaugural event was hailed a success with more than 65 people in attendance.
RSABI development officer, Margo Wills, said: “Guests were well entertained by David Birse, the compere for the evening along with Nina Clancy, chief executive of RSABI, and David Leggat of United Auctions, sharing some of his entertaining tales as an auctioneer.
“A fabulous £4381.50 was raised overall thanks to the very generous businesses and individuals who attended the dinner, provided prizes, donated to RSABI and bid at auction.”
She said the money would go towards the charity’s Help Us Help Them campaign, which set out to raise £150,000 in the past 12 months.
Last month the charity opened its winter heating fund, which sets out to help address fuel poverty. The Help for Heating Fund provides fixed grants of £300 to successful applicants.
