The Grampian Foal Show relocated to Fountain Equestrian Centre, outside Aberdeen, for the 2016 running of its winter event.
In the Clydesdale ring, which was adjudicated by Alistair Ferguson, the championship was awarded to Ord Tinkerbell from Eric and Miranda Johnstone.
They brought Tinkerbell to the event from Muir of Ord following a successful foal show run, during which time she has been placed reserve filly foal at Lanark, first in the junior filly foal class at the North of Fife and reserve overall foal at both the Lothian and Borders and Forfar foal shows.
She was also placed third at foot at the City of Aberdeen during the summer show season.
Bred in May, Tinkerbell is the produce of Eskechraggan Ernest and was home-bred out of the Dillars Scottie Boy-sired show mare, Ord Envy.
Local exhibitor Norman Christie, from Roadside at Fintray, took the reserve Clydesdale honours.
His class leader was the May-born colt foal Anguston Mike, sired by Bratlach Millichen and home-bred out of Anguston Molly.
Judges Jane Barry and Jim Swan reached deadlock on their decision over which Shetland pony should take overall breed honours.
Stepping in to separate the exhibits, umpire Jean Ralston sent the Bergli Stud’s two-year-old colt Bergli Dreamkeeper home with the overall tricolour.
Bred by Roar Larsen and Tore Skarpnord at Finnigarth, Walls, this son of Jolly Av Bergli was sired by Almnas Utopia.
He had led the standard black pony exhibits.
Reserve Shetland was the leading coloured pony, Myreton Gustavo from J and G Wilson, Leys Farm, Dollar.
This colt foal, which was bred and shown by Jimmy Wilson’s granddaughter Lisa, was by Birchmoor Viking and got from Myreton Georgie.
Ken and Anne Scott returned to Broughty Ferry with the miniature Shetland championship rosette. Their winner was two-year-old Kerrystone Eddie, by Myreton Talisman.
Meanwhile, Louise of Strathmore prevailed in the Highland pony ring for Sarah Macintosh, from Peterhead, with Lynne McDonald and Ruby May of Coynach in reserve.
Top of the Mountain and Moorland section was Stacy Angus’s Drymuir Bonnie Prince Charlie.
Jethro Almighty, from Diane Allan was reserve.
