Clydesdale selected to promote 2017 Royal Highland Show

One of Scotland’s most iconic breeds – the Clydesdale – has been unveiled as the ‘hero’ image for the 2017 Royal Highland Show.
The marketing campaign, which follows in the hoofprints of Morag the Highland Cow, will see Fife-bred Collessie Jennifer’s picture emblazoned upon billboards, buses, social media channels and TV in the run up to the main event on June 22.
Jennifer, which was bred by former Clyesdale Horse Society president Ronnie Black, at Newton of Collessie, is the fourth generation of Royal Highland championship winning prize stock – as her mother, grandmother and great grandmother all prevailed to stand best of breed within the main ring at Ingliston.
“The Clydesdale is a breed of draught horse derived from the farm horses of Clydesdale which is in existence thanks to a committed number of breeders who invest time and passion into protecting the future of this beautiful native breed,” said Mr Black.
“There is no better showcase to see this magnificent animal than at the Royal Highland Show.”
