Scottish Government is to hold a second round of applications this year for the Agri-Environment Climate Scheme (AECS).
Applications for the scheme ended on March 31, however government will re-open the application window from April 18 until May 2.
Rural Economy Secretary Fergus Ewing said the scheme was re-opening in a bid to “mitigate the potential impact of the ongoing development of the Common Agricultural Policy (Cap) IT system”.
He said government was focused on fixing all on-going issues with the farm payments system and “making progress at delivering new IT functionality to support future payment processes”.
“As I have said before, my number one priority remains fixing the Cap payment issues and I am determined that the most farmers will receive the majority of their Cap entitlement in advance of the end of the payment period,” added Mr Ewing.
He said deadlines for IPA (improving public access) and Slurry Storage applications were unaffected.
