The Aberdeen-Angus Cattle Society has extended an invite to all beef producers to attend its technical conference later this year.
The two-day conference, which will follow the theme ‘From Consumption to Conception’, is part of the World Angus Forum which comes to Scotland in the summer.
The forum, which will feature 50 events over a 16-day period in June and July, sets out to showcase the Aberdeen-Angus breed throughout the length and breadth of the UK.
Speakers will discuss a range of topics including what the retailer wants, how data, genetics and genomics can improve the customer’s experience, and how Aberdeen-Angus cattle can benefit both human health and the environment.
World Angus Forum organising committee member, James Playfair-Hannay, said: “Aberdeen-Angus is now so much more than just a breeding society, it’s a global brand. We want to run a technical conference that will be of great value and really delve deep into the question around whether the beef industry is fit for purpose to face the future.
“The technical conference is not just relevant to Aberdeen-Angus, but to the whole beef industry. We have a great mix of speakers, from technical experts to practical farmers who are using the technology, so we can get a real insight into every level of the production process in what is sure to be a magnificent event.”
The technical conference takes place in the Assembly Rooms in Edinburgh on June 25-26.
