An award-winning Banchory farmer has been appointed chairman of ANM Group.
Pete Watson, who runs a mixed beef and arable farm at Darnford along with his family, replaces Pat Machray in leading the board of the north-east farmers’ co-operative.
Mr Watson said: “ANM Group plays a major role in Scotland’s economy supporting the farming industry and delivering a professional, quality service across all divisions to our members and customers.
“I look forward to working with the board, executive team and staff, implementing the group’s strategy and objectives to move the business forward on a positive basis and continue to ensure that we remain fit for the future.”
Outgoing chairman Mr Machray, who previously served as group chief executive, will retire fully as a director from the board in August.
He said: “I have enjoyed my time served on the board with the support of a very capable board of directors, executive team and all our people at ANM.
“I would like to thank everyone for their hard work and efforts over the years and look forward to working with Pete Watson. I am confident that he will be a good chairman and wish him every success in his new role.”
Mike Macaulay was appointed vice-chairman at the group. He is one of the founder members and chairman of GPH Builders Merchants Ltd, and a director of Ringlink Scotland. He runs a herd of Aberdeen-Angus cattle with his wife at his Kinellar home.
