An Aberdeenshire young farmer has been appointed as a knowledge transfer specialist at Quality Meat Scotland (QMS).
Rebecca Rainnie, 24, joins the red meat levy body’s industry development role.
She will be tasked with assisting QMS on a range of projects aimed at assisting livestock farmers in Scotland to improve their business efficiency, profitability and sustainability.
Brought up on a family farm in Aberdeenshire, Ms Rainnie has a BSc Honours Degree in Rural Business Management from SRUC in Aberdeen. She most recently worked as a marking co-ordinator at north-east animal feed firm Harbro.
QMS head of industry development Doug Bell said: “We are delighted to welcome Rebecca to the QMS industry development team.
“As well as her knowledge of practical farming, Rebecca is also a great communicator and, I am sure, will make a strong contribution to the workload delivered by the team.”
