The annual Brechin Castle Equestrian Spring Show attracted a large number of entries with new sections added to the schedule this year including the In-hand classes for the Clydesdale Horse Society, which proved popular with competitors and spectators.
Organiser Valerie Blewitt said: “We tried to have something to suit everyone in our schedule this year and it was obvious that the new date of the last Sunday in May suited competitors.
“We were delighted to welcome judges from all over Scotland as well as one from north Wales to judge the foreign breeds, Appaloosas and VHS classes.
“We have seen the Spring Show grow each year with competitors coming from farther afield entering both the qualifiers and unaffiliated classes and making use of the on-site stables and enjoying the space and beauty of the Brechin Castle Showground and Dalhousie Estate.”
The showing classes had good entries as well as the Unaffiliated Working Hunter with as many as 15 competitors in some classes.
The supreme champion at the show was Hilary Mackie on King Brex.
