Dingwall and Highland Marts is expanding its yard to accommodate the growing interest in its machinery sales. The mart’s managing director, Ian Tolmie, said the expansion was the result of a £50,000 investment in facilities at the site. “We are going to extend the yard to accommodate machinery at the sales. It’s happening in the summer time,” said Mr Tolmie. The mart currently holds six sales of machinery, equipment, cars and commercial vehicles at its premises on the outskirts of Dingwall every year. Machinery, equipment, tools and vehicles from all over Scotland is brought to the mart to sell. Mr Tolmie said: “Sellers and buyers come from all over. We are getting stuff from the Borders to Argyll, and Caithness and the islands.” Agricultural photographer Ron Stephen took this picture of machinery lined up at the mart earlier this week ahead of a sale today. The sale starts at 10am.
