Two well-known auctioneers from the north-east downed their gavels and donned some pinnies for a cookery duel at the Royal Highland Show in Edinburgh.
Aberdeen and Northern Marts auctioneer Colin Slessor and trainee auctioneer Scott Chapman took part in the challenge at the Quality Meat Scotland kitchen at the show.
The pair were tasked with creating a delicious dish from a mystery bag of ingredients, including Scotch Beef and Scotch Lamb.
It follows a similar cook off earlier in the month at the Taste of Grampian food and drink festival where TV celebrity chef James Martin crowned Mr Slessor the winner for his pork burger meal with watermelon salad.
However, Mr Chapman reigned supreme yesterday with his Scotch Lamb stir fry. P&J food writer Lady Claire Macdonald, who was tasked with judging the creations, favoured this over Mr Slessor’s Scotch Beef tacos.
Following the challenge, Mr Chapman used his auctioneering skills to raise £100 for charity by selling a Scotch Beef apron to the audience.
