A well-known Aberdeenshire farmer’s daughter has been unveiled as the latest recipient of financial support from The Gregor Award Trust.
The trust was set up 20 years ago by Mr and Mrs R. F. Gregor following the 50th anniversary of the East Aberdeenshire District of Young Farmers’ Clubs.
It has funded young farmers to travel and attend agricultural events all over the world, and the latest recipient is Amy Ingram of Logie Durno, Pitcaple, near Inverurie.
Her family – parents William and Carole and brothers Gregor and Bruce – are award-winning sheep farmers running more than 2,000 ewes of various breeds and holding an on-farm tup sale every year.
Miss Ingram was awarded the funds to help fund a trip to Canada for the 4-H Youth Summit, which took place earlier this week.
The trip was organised by the Scottish Association of Young Farmers’ Clubs and Miss Ingram and other Scots young farmers delivered a presentation on the association’s mental health awareness campaign – Are ewe okay?
